Ducati DesertX
The DesertX is one of the premier adventure motorcycles of our day for good reason. Unlike some adventure bikes that bear a striking resemblance to their street bike siblings, the DesertX is an adventure bike designed from the ground up to be a capable off road adventure machine.
Styling
A rally style windscreen and bodywork combine with the large tall gas tank to make this bike somewhat reminiscent of the Cagiva Elefant 900 of the 90’s, albeit with a distinctly modern twist.
Bits and Pieces
Appropriately equipped with a 21 inch front and a 18 inch rear, just about 9 inches of travel front and back, and almost 10 inches of ground clearance (9.8 in) this Ducati is designed with off-road capability beyond many of it’s middle weight adventure bike bretheren.
Street Cred
Decent wind protection, ergonomics and great power make this a capable long distance touring mount and a comfortable around town commuter and an excellent corner carving street machine if called upon it will oblige there too.
All the Tech
Blue tooth multi media, ride modes, power modes, cornering abs, traction control, engine braking control, quick shifter, self cancelling signals and the list goes on. The DesertX has got tech you need in an adventure bike.
Right Sized
DesertX is 492 lbs fueled up and ready to ride. Which puts it right in the middle of the middle weight adventure bike pack.
Sound and Fury
At 110 hp the DesertX sounds great and has all the power you need to comfortably navigate your way around trucks and traffic out on the highway. More importantly thanks to six different ride modes and three power modes, the DesertX will also have you powering through surprisingly technical off road stuff.
