Getting out on you bike with friends is a great way to spend the day. But long rides without earplugs are more tiring and can damage your ears. That’s why most riders I know choose to wear earplugs.
There are so many kinds, which should you buy? One of my favorite go-to earplugs are the Hearos brand High Fidelity model.
This is an earplug with musicians in mind. I find it works great for motorcyclists as well. For days on the bike when I’m riding with buddies, I know I’m going to stop and talk frequently throughout the day. I don’t really want to have to take my helmet off and remove my earplugs every time I stop. The beauty of these hearos is you can just leave them in and carry on your conversations. Sure you have to try harder to hear if you leave your lid on, but you will hear a lot more than with conventional earplugs. The other nice plus is that these Hearos will help you hear your communicator much easier. No you won’t have to max your volume just to chat over comms with your buddies. These earplugs lower the volume but keep the highs and lows, so you are less likely to misunderstand what someone is saying.
